PATIENCE, PRACTICE, PERSPECTIVE

Today’s New Year’s Intention Setting Online Retreat was everything and more than I could have wanted it to be. I have never led a retreat online, and so wasn’t sure how it would translate. I think the consensus was that there was still connection, intimacy, depth, conversation, and laughter even though the experience was online.
We did a yoga practice, some meditation, a bunch of journaling exercises, mind-mapping, and collage. The conversations were insightful and inspirational.
Leading these kinds of retreats is absolutely what I want to do more of. /Bringing all of these pieces together— yoga, meditation, art, connection, meaningful conversation, depth, light-heartedness, and holding space for others— contains all the elements that make me come alive.
My finale art piece is titled: Patience, Practice, and Perspective. These are the elements that I want to explore in 2021. I mean, what could be hard about that? LOL
It’s perfect for how I want to expand my teaching, grow my business, and create a sustainable foundation for friendships to deepen.
From here I look out on the distant horizon of my life and I ask of my future self: How can I serve you? And I listen for the answer. I point my boat in that direction, and surrender to the currents that rock this boat knowing there is no perfect, easy journal into mastery. The storms, icebergs, conflicts, and confusion are a necessary part of the journey of honing one’s craft and living in the light of one’s dharma (one’s purpose.)
Thank you to those who showed up today. I couldn’t have dreamed up a more extraordinary group. It was everything I wanted and more.
Here’s to show and tell, making art, embracing the moment, and expanding perspective.
Stay tuned. More retreats in the making.
